This ReStory endings guide covers the two named final outcomes, the last major choice, and the best-supported character routes found so far. The main endings are Rock for the ages! and Globalization, while Origami, Melancholy, Ronin, and Ghost in the Frame are achievement-backed character outcomes. Spoilers begin below, and any route that has not been independently reproduced is labeled instead of presented as certain.
Spoiler warning: the final decision and character outcomes are described below. The final shop decision and the earlier invitation branch are separate checkpoints.
| Outcome | Type | Best-supported trigger |
|---|---|---|
| Rock for the ages! | Main ending | Support Takumi and the concert organizers. |
| Globalization | Main ending | Accept the shopping-center development. |
| Origami | Character outcome | Repair the child’s Eggotchi and refuse payment. |
| Melancholy | Character outcome | Distrust the courier, host Haruhi and finish her conversations. |
| Ronin | Character outcome | Help and host Kaito, then finish his follow-up jobs. |
| Ghost in the Frame | Character outcome | Host Baketsu without a competing invitation and finish the watch follow-up. |
Final choice: Rock for the ages! or Globalization
The late split arrives after Yamato explains that the concert is canceled and Hashimoto presents a proposal about Akihabara. The community achievement walkthrough documents these two responses:
- Rock for the ages!: take the path that sells the shop to Takumi and directs the proceeds toward saving the concert.
- Globalization: accept the development proposal and let the shopping center be built.
Choose by the meaning of the response in your language, not just “the first button” from a translated screenshot. “Good” and “bad” ending are common player labels; the achievement names above are the useful identifiers. The official store confirms branching outcomes but does not publish a full dialogue tree.
How many endings are there?
The two clearest main conclusions are Rock for the ages! and Globalization. Origami, Melancholy, Ronin and Ghost in the frame concern customer stories; counting all six as equivalent main endings blurs two different systems. The three invitation-related routes happen before the final shop decision.
There is no verified secret or true-ending sequence in the sources checked here. More story announced for a future update is not evidence of an additional playable ending today.
Save before the invitation and before Hashimoto
Patch 1.0.013r added five save slots. Protect one branch before hosting a character and another before Hashimoto's proposal. A save made at the finale may already contain the earlier invitation, so it will not necessarily let you swap character routes.
For a separate backup, close the game and preserve the full Restory folder. The save location and recovery guide gives the publisher's Windows, macOS and Steam Deck paths. The five recent files described by support are not the same thing as five independently protected route backups.
Haruhi: Melancholy
The community walkthrough reports three important actions: express distrust of the courier, offer Haruhi a place to stay, and talk to her after the last repair in her sequence. Follow her available jobs and conversations rather than leaving once an item has been returned. This is a reported route, not an official list of every dialogue prerequisite.
If you already trusted the courier or committed to another invitation, use the pre-choice copy when comparing outcomes. Repeating unrelated email orders is not a documented way to reverse that decision.
Kaito: Ronin
The same player guide reports agreeing to help Kaito, offering him a place to stay and returning for dialogue after his final requested repair. Keep his outstanding devices distinct from ordinary shop work. The source does not establish a universal number of days or every required reply, so do not replace your backup with a guessed “perfect answer” sequence.
Baketsu: Ghost in the frame
The reported route is to host Baketsu, wait for the watch-related request, repair the watch and continue the conversation. The community source specifically warns that another invitation can prevent this watch discussion. Keep a copy before offering accommodation if you intend to compare Baketsu with another character.
The English achievement is Ghost in the frame. Its internal Steam identifier contains GHOST_IN_A_SHELL, which explains some inconsistent labels in discussions; match the achievement displayed in your selected language.
Origami: the child's free repair
Repair the girl's Eggotchi. When the courier later offers to cover the unpaid repair, refuse payment and make the job free for the children. The reported reward arrives during a later follow-up with the origami gift, rather than necessarily at the instant you refuse money.
Best order for comparing routes
- Keep a working playthrough and a separate copy before the first invitation you want to test.
- Follow one invited character's jobs to the end, checking dialogue after repairs.
- Make another copy before the final Hashimoto choice.
- View one main ending, then return to the pre-finale copy for the other.
- Return to the earlier invitation copy to compare a different character route.
Use the chronological choices guide for the checkpoints and the 50-achievement table for wider completion. If customers stop appearing with unfinished story events, try the progression checklist before replaying the whole game.
Route detail is based on the community guide, which Steam currently flags as removed/incompatible, and the official achievement names. Save handling was updated against tinyBuild support and the patch timeline on October 20, 2026. Exact unrecorded invitation timing remains unverified; no independent full-route playtest is claimed.
